ABOUT CLIENt

UC, established by Mila Hernandez, has its origins in the background of her Colombian immigrant parents. Throughout her upbringing, Mila navigated the duality of languages—English at school and Spanish at Home. Immersed in the literary interests of her parents, and former professors in Colombia, she cultivated an interest for learning, particularly in language and literature.

Despite her enthusiasm for learning, Mila faced a significant challenge during her school days. The world around her appeared blurry, leaving her feeling constantly behind in class. This challenge discouraged her academic pursuit and progress in language and reading. It wasn’t until her parents became aware and sought to find a solution for Mila that a path to relief would come.

This experience exposed Mila and her parents to the high costs of eyeglass care. With the support and hard work of her parents, Mila was provided with glasses that partially alleviated her vision problems. However, the perfect glasses that would not only enhance her vision but also suit her aesthetic preference would require her to work and save money. This moment instilled in her a lifelong dedication to advocating affordable, quality vision care for everyone, especially students, ensuring the right to a clear vision for all.
